2022 City Neighbourhood Awards

Following a hiatus of two years, the Council’s City Neighbourhood Awards are back!

 

The competition recognises the great work that schools, businesses and communities carry out to improve and enhance their neighbourhood, keeping it clean and well presented.

 

Individual community groups, local schools or businesses that have undertaken a project to enhance our neighbourhood can enter this year’s Neighbourhood Awards. There are a variety of categories, in which an application can be made, including:

  • Residential Competition:
  • 1 – 150 Dwellings
  • 151 – 300 Dwellings
  • 300 Dwellings and Over
  • Flat/Apartment Complex
  • Senior Citizen Complex
  • Garden
  • Open Green Space
  • Community Environment Initiative
  • Allotment
  • Community Garden
  • Urban Village
  • Mixed Use Street

 

  • Business Competition:
  • Shop Front
  • Business Environment Initiative and Sustainability Initiative (Water Conservation/Energy Efficiency)
  • Waste Management Initiative

 

The “Urban Village” and “Mixed Use Street” categories could be a joint effort involving residents and business.

 

  • Schools Competition:

Both Primary level and second level schools are welcome to take part in the City Neighbourhood Awards competition, 2022.

 

Marks will be awarded under the following judging criteria:

  • Upkeep of school’s precinct i.e. landscaping/biodiversity/absence of litter and graffiti (40%)
  • Waste Management/Recycling Initiatives (25%)
  • Water Conservation/Energy Efficiency Initiatives (25%)
  • Special Environmental Projects (10%)

 

 

Details of how your Residents’ Association, Community Group, school or busines can take part in this year’s City Neighbourhood Awards can be found online at www.dublincity.ie.
