IDRA AGM and Iona Family Day

29th May, 2012

I recently attended the Iona and District Residents Association. I’ve been going along to this meetings since 2004 and it was encouraging to see that there was as many people at the meeting as in previous years.

A whole variety of issues were discussed. They included permit parking, the performance of Greyhound, antisocial behaviour and planning matters. I update the meeting on the status of the new Mater campus, developments in relation to the National Children’s Hospital and the future of the Grangegorman DIT project. After this meeting residents approached me over a variety of matters.

I also attended the Iona Parish Family Fun Day yesterday. Best day ever for it – baking sun, great attendance and a great variety of stands. Made a welcome change from last year when it had to be deferred due to rain. Congratulations to all who organised it.
