Due to the severe shortage of water please do not use water to wash cars, paths or for any other non essential use. The public’s cooperation will help to improve the supply of water.
The prolonged freeze over Christmas and the early days of January caused a dramatic increase in broken water mains. The ground will move as the thaw continues during the week beginning 11th January and this will cause further damage and breakages to the water mains, resulting in increased loss of water.
The following area’s will experience reduced pressure today; Walkinstown, Errigal Rd, Balfe Rd, Crumlin Rd, Clogher Rd, Clonmacnoise, Poddle Park. Donore Ave,Clanbrassil St.Lwr, Clanwilliam Place, Brunswick St. Green/Church St, Irish Town, Pembroke Rd, Merrion RdAnglesea Rd, Mespil Rd, Bath ave and Merrion Rd South.
All area’s in the North East of the city, (from the M1 down as far as Artane) are still without water or are on reduced pressure.
Griffith Ave – Mobhi Rd, Drumconda and surrounding areas will still be experiencing loss of pressure for the majority of Saturday.
Poppintree/Oakwood/Melville and Finglas west should have water back by today, although these areas should anticipate short interruptions in supply.
Sean Moore Road and surrounding areas are presently experiencing loss of supply due to a broken mains, this should be functional again by early afternoon.
In those areas to which water supply has been restored, it can take a number of hours to distribute water back into the network and reach sufficient water pressure levels. Therefore, householders in these areas should expect some delays in returning to some level of water supply. Dublin City Council regrets the inconvenience caused and is working to return to normal water supply levels as soon as possible. We wish to thank the public for their continued patience and co-operation during this difficult time.

These locations are subject to change depending on demand. Other tankers will also be deployed to meet demand. Mobile tankers will be available to provide water to hospitals and nursing homes.
Other mobile tankers will be on roaming duties in areas without water.
Please call 222 0600 to arrange for a tanker to call to the elderly or those most at need. They will be available until 8pm, depending on demand.
Both mobile & stationary tankers will need to be replenished and therefore may need to leave the area for a short time, your co-operation and patience is greatly appreciated They will be available until 8pm, depending on demand.
