Cabra District Update

 CABRA COMMUNITY GRANT ALLOCATIONS 2014

Dublin City Council will be allocating almost €60,000 in small community grants to residents’ associations and community groups across Dublin Central in 2014.  The provision of these grants will assist voluntary and community groups to organise and successfully hold local events and improvement works across their neighbourhoods. This year, €10,500 will be allocated to various groups across the Cabra district. Councillors will formally approve these allocations later this month with all groups being notified afterwards.

CABRA PRIMARY CARE CENTRE CONSTRUCTION WORK UNDER-WAY

The HSE is currently advancing plans for the roll-out of Primary Care Centres across Dublin Central. New facilities will be provided in Summerhill, Grangegorman and along the Navan Road. The Cabra Primary Care will be located on the Navan Road on the Catholic Institute for Deaf People lands. This facility will house services for people in Cabra West, across the Blackhorse Avenue district and along the Navan Road. Construction work started last December and is progressing well. HSE officials have advised me that the construction phase of the project is likely to be concluded by year’s end and it is envisaged that the Cabra Primary Care Centre will open in March 2015.

DePAUL SWIMMING POOL – CONSTRUCTION WORK TO ADVANCE

The Daughters of Charity are now able to access approved funding from the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport for the completion of refurbishment works to the DePaul Swimming Pool. Minister Michael Ring advised me earlier this week that the much need renovations to the facility can now be advanced.
