I look forward to seeing work on the Arena commencing in the coming weeks’.

The National Indoor Arena comprises;

–         A National Indoor Training Centre designed to cater for a wide range of sports; and

–         A National Gymnastics Training Centre.

The Minister added: ‘I visited the Campus before Christmas and I was very pleased to see the progress that has been made on the development of the Irish Institute of Sport High Performance Centre and the Campus Pavilion Building. These projects are due to be completed in July 2015, in time to benefit Irish athletes in their preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympics. There has been excellent progress in the development of facilities at the National Sports Campus in the last two years.  Today sees the start of a further phase of exciting development at Campus’.
