Dublin City Council water supply update – 11.30am Thursday January 21st

21st January, 2010

Dublin City Council regrets the inconvenience caused by the disruption in the supply of water. The latest information on the water supply situation will be posted on this site as soon as possible after the update becomes available.

Due to the severe shortage of water please do not use water to wash cars, paths or any non essential use. Your actions in reducing your consumption of water will help to improve and restore the supply of water to Dublin.

It has come to our attention that bogus callers may be utilising the current water problems to gain access to houses. If a member of Dublin City Council calls to a property they will always carry and produce identification. If the caller asks you to check the flow of water at the taps, close the door fully while you do so. Look to see if there is a vehicle parked outside with markings of the Water Services Division of Dublin City Council on it. If you are in any doubt do not allow  them access to your home. For further information and very useful advice please log on to the Homepage of http://www.garda.ie/.

Although many people have water back to their taps, the situation is still critical. The Water Division would ask people to exercise restraint and conserve their use of water at this time.
