I have been informed by the Clerk of the Seanad that the Harbours Bill is back in next Thursday. It is due to be completed and pass the remaining stages in the Seanad. After this it will move to the Dail.
Given the long (to put it mildly) history of this bill it will be fascinating to see how it ends. Dennis O’Donovan missed the end of 2nd stage on the bill a few weeks ago. Given his outright opposition to the bill will he vote really vote for the bill?
I’ll keep you all informed next Thursday. From my point of view I will be looking to see my amendment in relation to community consultation properly included. This will be the 3rd big change that I have achieved to transport legislation in 18 months.
