Attended the quarterly policing meeting in City Hall this morning. At this meeting Gardai and senior Council staff gave an update on local policing matters. At this meeting I raised the following matters-
First – the need to increase community policing presence at the Mountjoy Community Policing Meetings and in the surrounding area.
Second – questioning the discharge of firearms figures, particularly in the Cabra area.
Third – criminal behaviour in the Nottingham street area. Things have improved since the last meeting but it needs to be monitored continuously.
Final – a discussion about laneways in the Phibsborough area and some suggestions about how to reduce criminal traffic through them.
Gardai and DCC responded to the points I raised.
