Coburgh Place re-surfacing works

20th March, 2014

The need to have Coburgh Place re-surfaced is an issue that has been raised with myself and Councillor Ray McAdam throughout the past year.

On each occasion that Councillor McAdam and I have called to homes on Coburgh Place, the most frequent issue raised with us has been the terrible condition of the road-surface on the street. We have consistently raised the matter with the Roads Maintenance Section of Dublin City Council who has advised that repair works will be carried out. Temporary repair work while welcome has not been satisfactory and both Councillor McAdam and I have continued to pursue the need for full re-surfacing of Coburgh Place with Dublin City Council.

I am therefore delighted to report to you that at last month’s Central Area Committee meeting, it was confirmed to Councillor McAdam that on foot of our representations, Coburgh Place will be re-surfaced this year. Councillor McAdam has also advised me that the City Council has allocated €10,000 in this year’s Budget for the cost of these works and it is expected that these works will take place in June or July. I have enclosed a copy of the report provided to Councillor McAdam for your records and review. If you have any questions or queries arising from the information outlined overleaf, please get in touch with either myself or Councillor McAdam and we will do our best to answer any enquiries that you may have.
