Digital Democracy

18th March, 2009

I have been invited to speak at a conference entitled ‘Digital Democracy,Governance 2.0’ at Google’s European HQ in Dublin. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to do this. The conference will be on in April and will include speakers from the worlds of politics, business and academia. I plan to speak on how mass collaboration through the internet can enhance the quality of public service delivery.

All of this is described as Wikinomics, where individual choice and activity influences the performance of collective entities. The best book that I have read on this is ‘Here Comes Everybody’ by Clay Shirky (great website at www.herecomeseverybody.org). These kind of interests are so important to me and keep me going. Hopefully I’ll be able to share this enthusiasm on a wider scale!
