Dublin Central Fine Gael Team Deliver Much Needed Roads & Footpath Improvement Programme

26th March, 2021

Your local Fine Gael team in Dublin Central, comprising myself, Councillors Colm O’Rourke, Ray McAdam and Naoise O’Muiri have secured €2.6m in City *8*Council funding to deliver a targeted Roads Improvement and Footpath Enhancement Scheme across the constituency.

This funding will be used to upgrade badly damaged local streets, as well as enabling the enhancement of local footpaths. Full road resurfacing, patch-work improvements as well as the repair of traffic calming ramps will be undertaken across the second half of 2021. These upgrade works will take place along:

Finglas Road (sections between Dalcassian Downs & St. Philomena’s Road)
Prospect Way (sections between Finglas Rooad & Prospect Way)
Cabra Road (sections between Navan Road & North Circular Road)
Dorset Street (sections between North Circular Road & Whitworth Road)
Drumcondra Road Lower (sections between Whitworth Road & Clonliffe Road)
Amiens Street (sections between Store Street & Talbot Street)
Beresford Place (sections between Store Street & Amiens Street)
Blackhall Place (sections between King Street North & Hendrick Street)
East Wall Road (Sections between Alfie Byrne Road & Forth Road)
North Circular Road (Sections Leo Street & Berkeley Road)
Queen Street (sections between King Street North & Blackhall Street)
Ferguson Road (patches & speed ramps)
Walsh Road (speed ramps)
Millmount Avenue (speed ramps)
Monck Place (entire carriageway)
Olaf Road (entire carriageway)
Sitric Place (patches between Sitric Road & Norseman Place)
Prospect Avenue (patches between Prospect Way & Prospect Square)
St. Teresa’s Road (entire stretch between Prospect Avenue & St. Teresa’s Place)
Strand Street Great (entire carriageway)

In addition to these improvements to the road surface and speed ramps, local footpaths are set to be enhanced. These include:

Leix Road
Violet Hill Park
St. Jarlath Road
Ratoath Estate
Clonmore Road
Clonmore Terrace

I will be in further contact with households on each of the streets included in the 2021 Dublin Central Roads and Footpath Improvement programme advising them of when works are likely to take place and if alternative traffic management initiatives will be required. If you require any further information in respect of these planned works, please get in touch with me at Paschal.Donohoe@Oireachtas.ie.
