ENTERPRISE IRELAND SITE, BALLYMUN ROAD

19th June, 2008

Dear  Constituent,

19th June 2008.

I am writing to update you on the status of the Enterprise Ireland site on Ballymun Road and plans for its future use.

A number of local residents have highlighted their concern about future plans for the site and I am keenly aware this is a matter of great interest to your local neighbourhood. I recently placed a Parliamentary Question to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment asking her to outline to me plans for the current and future use of the site.

There are currently three state agencies residing on the Glasnevin site owned by Enterprise Ireland, which includes the National Standards Authority of Ireland and Sustainable Energy Ireland. The Minister has informed me the National Standards Authority of Ireland has relocated its’ offices to another site in Santry and Enterprise Ireland propose to relocate to alternative offices at a later date in 2008. When these agencies have relocated to different premises, future plans for the site will be a matter for Enterprise Ireland following consultations with relevant Government Departments.

It is clear from the response that I received from the Minster for Enterprise, Trade and Employment is that there will be changes at the site in the coming year. I want to assure you that I will continue to monitor this issue through the Seanad and parliamentary questions to the Minister and will do my best to make you aware of planned changes. Both myself and your local Fine Gael Councillor Mary O’Shea will do our best to represent you on this in the future.

Should you require any further assistance in relation to this or any other matter which may arise in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me and I’ll be delighted to help.

Kindest Personal Regards.

Yours Sincerely

Paschal Donohoe
