Pelletstown Public Meeting

17th September, 2009

I attended a meeting last night with Pelletstown residents on the future of the river road and the status of the Tolka Linear Park. This is a really important challenge for the residents themselves but also for the Navan road and Cabra end of my constituency. Many commitments were made regarding the development of the River Road and the surrounding lands. Little has happened and that has caused massive problems for the local community.

This meeting was attended by residents, Gardai, other representatives and the City Council. My colleague Mary O’Shea was there. We agreed to set up a round table meeting with Fingal and all the key departments from DCC to develop short and long term goals for the area.

My input was that the number one goal for this proposed meeting must be the security of the community. To make this happen the Gardai should attend. I will attend this meeting to give all the support I can.
