Phase 1 of #DominickStreet regeneration to be finished by Christmas

7th July, 2021

I recently had the opportunity with North Inner City Councillor, Ray McAdam, to see for ourselves the progress being made in the building of 72 new homes as part of Phase 1 of the Dominick StreetRegeneration Project.

This €40m project is advancing well, despite the interruptions caused by the Covid Public Health measures over the last twelve months. It is expected that construction will be completed by years’ end with the Housing Department of Dublin City Council beginning the allocation of homes in January next.

In total, this phase of the Dominick Street Regeneration project will see 12 one-bedroom apartments, 50 two-bedroom apartments and 10 three-bedroom apartments. Those residents who lived in the original Dominick Street complex and have Letters of Comfort or have expressed an interest in returning to the new apartment complex, will have the opportunity to accept a formal offer of alternative accommodation.

Finally, by taking the time to visit the construction site and meet with City Council officials, I also discussed how best to progress Phase 2 of the Dominick StreetRegeneration project. I have worked to deliver funding for the building of new and better housing in Dominick Street and I am eager to progress Phase 2 of the regeneration project. I will, therefore, have further updates to circulate on this across the coming weeks.
