Phibsborough Policing Forum

26th October, 2011

Last night I attended the Phibsborough Policing Forum. An Garda Siochana provided an update on progress toward dealing with rogue landlords and a small group of tenants that are causing massive difficulty for local residents. A small number of properties were subject to action from local Garda, the PRTB and the Environmental Health Section of Dublin City Council. They have had an impact on reducing anti social activity in Phibsborough itself and near the 17 shops. Other matters raised by local residents included the consumption of alcohol in public and the safety of local laneways. I asked that the City Council remove flood debris for fear that it be used in bonfires.
