Progress Report on Dublin Central Roads Improvement Programme 2022

6th September, 2022

My summer #DublinCentral Matters newsletter included details of this year’s Roads & Footpath Improvement Programme whereby Dublin City Council has allocated €2.6m to resurface and enhance local roads.

This week, my colleague and Fine Gael Councillor for the North Inner City, Ray McAdam secured an update from the Roads Maintenance Department detailing the progress being made to date in delivering these works as well as providing a timeframe for their completion. I have outlined this information below:

  • Manor Street & Stoneybatter:
    Works completed by August 26th.
  • North King Street:
Works scheduled to be completed by September 9th.
  • Prospect Road / Phibsborough Road:
Resurfacing works scheduled between September 6th & 12th.
  • Navan Road:
    September 15th.
  • North Circular Road:
    September 19th.
  • Charleville Road:
Resurfacing works scheduled between September 19th & 23rd.
  • West Road:
Resurfacing works scheduled between September 26th & 28th.
  • Hawthorn Avenue:
    September 29th.
  • St. Eithne Road:
Resurfacing works scheduled between September 30th & October 3rd.
  • Dominick Lane:
    October 5th.

Improvements to these streets have been badly needed and I have worked with my Fine Gael colleagues, Colm O’Rourke and Ray McAdam across Cabra / Glasnevin and the North Inner City to help deliver on these works. Between now and Christmas, we will be engaging with local residents’ associations and community groups to identify those streets, roads and avenues that require improvements and should be included in the 2023 Roads and Footpath improvement programme.
