Speaking following his meeting this afternoon (Wednesday) with International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG), the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Paschal Donohoe TD said: ‘I, along with the Inter Departmental Steering Group, met this afternoon with CEO of IAG, Willie Walsh, and IAG’s advisers’.
“The meeting was a good opportunity to hear more detail in relation to IAG’s proposal to make an offer for Aer Lingus. In the meeting I again emphasised the main considerations of Government in respect of any potential sale of its shares; that is access and jobs. The Steering Group will now evaluate the information it received and will engage further with IAG in the coming days.”
