Supporting good Local Planning & Infrastructure – from Paschal’s Annual Report 07/08

1st September, 2008

In the Last Year I have worked for:-

Improved Local Planning & Facilities

I have continued to work constructively with local residents on development and traffic matters. This has included the Phibsborough Area Plan, individual planning issues such as the Smurfit site in Glasnevin, Shandon Mills in Phibsborough and Cabra Farm.

Stronger Community Policing

I am on the Management Board of the Cabra Policing Forum and work to support the North West and North East Inner City Policing Forums. These organisations do great work for their local communities and I have worked to address their individual priorities.

Living Beside Croke Park

Those living near Croke Park must be better served across major events and match days. I have worked on the Match Day Parking Scheme where I supported the principle of the idea and campaigned for the expansion of the cordon. I also worked with Dublin City Council and An Garda Siochana to better protect local residents who live near to the stadium.

Helping Local Schools

I have questioned the Minister for Education on the need to better support local schools. I have supported various schools in the constituency including Navan Road primary and secondary schools, Gaelscoil Bharra, Dublin 7 Educate Together and St Lawrence O’Toole in Sherriff Street.

For next year:-

  • Working with local policing and community forums.
  • Support local schools in construction and development work.
  • Supports O’Devaney Garden, Dominic Street, Liberty House and other housing projects.
