The headline on the front page of the Daily Mail today read ‘Late Late in sexism row over Senator’. Amazingly the whole saga has resulted in my bagging my second ever front page story. Shows that every cloud does indeed have a silver lining.
The Daily Mail points to the absurdity of RTE turning me down as a man and picking another man instead for last night’s Late Late show. I am fresh to the Seanad, have a background in the private sector, have chaired an Oireachtas committee and (I hope and think) have made some decent contributions to the Oireachtas in the last 18 months.
This wasn’t enough for RTE to allow me to represent the only party with decent reform proposals for the Oireachtas. I”m baffled by the entire thing.
